Belfast's Yellow Cranes Limited Print
£190.00Price
Growing up and living just a stone’s throw away from Belfast, these iconic cranes always grabbed my attention and created an everlasting impression.
Samson and Goliath are the twin shipbuilding gantry cranes situated at Queen's Island, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Named after the Biblical figures Samson and Goliath, they dominate the city's skyline.
The yellow in my painting is potent against the dark, murky skies and moody background.
Mainly created with acrylics, shading and texture was achieved with the use of charcoal, giving more depth and a feel to the historic landscape of the Belfast shipyard and steelworks.
